*shakes head* As many in the comments said, get back to me when you're trying to figure out how to make the groceries last til payday, or figure out how you're going to pay the heating bill. I've been there, and while I wouldn't want to go back, at least I know how to cope.

I do feel sorry for those making six figures in a high cost of living area, because "move somewhere else" is not exactly easy - hasn't anyone looked around at the job market lately? I have friends living in Brooklyn that would love to live somewhere else, but there just aren't JOBS somewhere cheaper.

Oh my, how terrible it must be to be stressed that way. Perhaps they should give up all that money and be poor so that they don't have to worry about it any more.

It's all a matter of perspective. Yes, for most of us there are difficult decisions to be made to maintain a reasonable existence, and yes, the complaints of these people are pretty trivial.

But keep in mind for most of them, they've never had to conceive of having to do this at all. And that's something that scales pretty well for most of us: I take things like my sight and hearing for granted and will never be able to truly relate to those who are without. I know I'm not alone in this. But as much as those who have less think that those who have more should take a walk in their shoes, I firmly believe that is a two way street.

I do hope though that the folks in this article find this to be a wake-up call.
