falls for an Onion article
as "news," and then embarrasses herself trying to backpedal and claim she knew it was a joke the entire time, essentially establishing herself as the Vox Day of TV reporters.

I was surprised a few years ago when a 16-year-old British student didn't realise the Onion was satirical, but an American reporter? *sigh*

Yeah, I get people falling for some of the other sites (Borowitz Report, etc), but a US media professional should know the Onion.
