So, over on Facebook, a few folks have been passing around this image:  You know what? Screw "joy." I really don't give an airborne coitus if someone feels "joy" over helping the sick or the poor. I give a damn about people actually getting help. Yes, in some sort of utopian perfect world, everyone would be super compassionate and make this all a moot point, but out here in the real world, they ain't. The hell with "moral credit," and anyone who even wants it in the first place. Given a choice between harshing Penn's precious squee or actually doing something to help the poor and suffering? I'll take the latter any day of the week, and anyone who calls that "immoral" can bite my shiny metal ass. "Immoral" is placing your precious "joy" over the well-being of others. |
